Internships — Aditya Herekar | Equity Research, Venture Diligence, International Development

BUSINESS INTERNSHIP

I took these roles to learn how investors and entrepreneurs actually think. Each one put me alongside people with far more experience, who were generous with their time and patient with my questions. Most of what I know about the world of business came from them.

Roles

Three internships since 2024.

  • Financial Analyst Intern (paid), A Sustainability-Driven VC Firm, Detroit

    Jul 2026–present

Authored seven diligence reports and investment one-pagers on early-stage climate-tech and hard-tech companies, from mine-tailings reprocessing and AI-enabled composites to battery storage and contract manufacturing, informing whether the firm should invest or advise. Helped draft the thesis for a proposed $500–750M Midwest clean-energy and infrastructure private equity fund, built a report and pitch deck for a distributed battery-storage platform ahead of partner meetings, and compiled a 30-stock quantum computing watchlist verified against company filings.

  • Financial Analyst Intern, True Contrarian Investments

    Apr–Aug 2025

Researched 50+ stocks and closed-end funds for 20+ concise investment theses with risk–reward forecasts, drawing on valuation metrics (P/E, P/B), insider buying trends, and fundamental analysis. Applied contrarian, behavioral-finance, and value-based approaches under direct mentorship from a professional investor, and built and deployed a Python NLP model to gauge market sentiment. Six contrarian picks I pitched outperformed the S&P 500 by about 7% over one year.

  • Team Lead, International Internship Program, Leadership Initiatives

    Sep 2024–Apr 2025

Led a three-person team supporting a Nigerian entrepreneur to set up his business. Read more on Social Impact →
